The beauty of the scenery!!
We visited Whitby by bus on 11th August. The scenery was so wonderful.
First, we went to St. Mary's church. 199 steps were little bit hard for me, however the view from the cliff was much more beautiful than I had expected.
There were many graves on the criff. In Japan, it is said that taking a picture of graves are not good because the attitude wakes up our ancesters. And also they say that we should respect our ancesters, so to take a photo is prohibited. Therefore, there are few people to take a picture of the grave in Japan.
However, almost all people, incluging me,that visited this graveyard took many pictures because of the beauty of the scenery. I realized that this was because the shape of the grave in England was quite different from that of Japan.
In England, especially in York, I feel like taking a picture wherever I go. Wherever we are, even if we are in the graveyard, the beautiful scenery streches as far as the I could see.
This is one of the reasons that I love England!!!

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Whitby Yuka - lovely photos! It's true about the photos and gravestones - I hadn't thought about that but people do tend to take photos over here. Good that you're interested in taking more and more photos - it'll be a good record of your trip!
